ABOUT US
Penrith Netball Club was formed following the amalgamation of two rival clubs in Penrith; Penrith Police and Penrith Ladies. The club has gone from strength to strength in the past few years with structured training sessions and regular match fixtures, including league fixtures and friendlies. The club has expanded so much in the last 2 years that we have now split the training sessions on a Monday into juniors (11 - 16) and seniors (16 and above). We have also increased the senior session from one hour to an hour and a half.
The numbers have grown to such an extent that we now have enough senior players to enter a first and second team (Panthers and Pumas) in the Carlisle league on Tuesday evenings and hope to submit a third next September. Panthers are currently in division one, with Pumas in division two.

The club is not just about competitive netball. It is our goal to ensure that everyone who wants to play netball is able to do so, whatever your age and whatever your ability. At the end of the day, netball is fun and a great way of meeting new friends. We try to hold team and club socials throughout the year and our Christmas party is always fun!

The club aims to encourage women and girls over the age of 11 to participate in sport in Penrith and welcomes players of all abilities to come along to open practices every Monday during school term time. Practices comprise of a warm up followed by general ball skills and match practice. Both junior and senior practices are held in Queen Elizabeth Grammar School sports hall as follows:-
Juniors (11 - 16 year olds): 7.00pm - 8.00pm (£2.00)
Seniors (Over 16 - adult): 8.00pm - 9.30pm (£2.00)
Feel free to come along to a practice session. Just turn up and ask anyone to introduce you to Lynn, Margaret or Toinette or contact Jayne via the website to let us know you will coming along.

We are also keen to encourage talented juniors capable of playing with the adults to stay after the junior session in order to watch and, where possible, join in with the adult sessions in order to develop the Penrith players of the future.
Penrith Netball Club takes the health and safety of all players very seriously and should you continue to attend and become a member of the club, you will be covered under an insurance policy, which all members are required to contribute towards (£15 pa - 18 and over / £10 pa - under 18s). All adults wishing to play competitive netball in the local leagues are required to subscribe to the All England Netball Association (AENA) to cover insurance during match fixtures.
